Thirsty's!
Tonight we hit Thirsty's. We sat at the outdoor tables and watched the traffic drive by. The weather has been wonderful this year. No humidity and nice temps. Drinks are a bit pricey for Happy Hour. They still charged us $4.00 per drink. I was drinking Corona's. Mary had Mike's Hard Lemonade. The waitress did say that taps were a dollar off for Happy Hour but we were 2 drinks in by that point. We had the sampler for dinner. Very good and reasonable at $10.00 for fried mushrooms, peppers, cheese sticks and 4 wings. We followed Thirsty's up with a short trip to Kelly's II. It used to be called Harold's. I have to tell you, besides the smoke smell in the bar, this is the place! Friday night $2.50 Crown and Coke! The clientele isn't pretty but the talk was all fun!

Abby Road
Wonderful night wonderfull music! The night started kind of tough. The weather was playing havic with everyone in town. By 6:30 the weather cleared and the crowd rolled out. Abby Road did a fantastic job performing their Beatle tunes. We ventured into Art Alley and listened to a jam sessiom that turned out to be pretty good. From all appreanances the real winner in the street music program looks to be the Cigar and Wine store. They were serving beer and cigars right out the door and always had a crowd. One item of note: There appeared to be an over abundance of police on the streets. It might play for the crowd a little better if you guys wore a little less gear. Please understand that I appreciate the work our police do for us but thie street music atracts a more mundane crowd than what it looked our police force was ready for.

Why This Blog is Here
When I come across something happening in Rapid that sounds like fun I'm going to post the event. Right now my favorite activity going on in Rapid is the Music in the Streets on Thursday night. They are blocking off 7th street between Main and St Joe. Beer is served (a bit steep but the Bud Lime is great! $4.00)food is sold and people are dancing!
